Google didn’t want my tour and that’s fine. Google can kind of be a know-it-all anyway.
But no one can appreciate an Ani fail story like my dad, who happens to be hanging in The VA this week…
He had an endoscopic procedure yesterday that didn’t work, so this morning had surgery. When I finished editing this video and was ready to upload it and check off the assignment at 4am— that’s when I got a glimpse of the instructions and that my video for Google wouldn’t even half work.
But I already planned to send it to my dad for pre-op entertainment. Of course by the time I spoke to him, I was aware I couldn’t use it for Google and that made it even more hilarious to him.
Whether he watched the movie or not – he found much humor in the story of the fail and how funny I thought it was too.
Dad gave up a full ride to engineering school to be a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, and began carrying unspeakable weight even before then … when he was just a boy. I’m not sure if he even knows how he feels all the time…. Don’t tell him I said that… but I do know that checking up on or fussing over him —especially when he’s sick— is too hard.
Too much ‘Ani’ and he gets annoyed.
So that’s why I pick humor. He can carry that. Any time. Anywhere.
In the love language of Pete Cannon this Veterans Day, we send our deepest thanks.
